Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov will try to end his personal slump — and the Flyers’ two game-losing streak — against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center.
Carolina’s Cam Ward blanked Chicago, 3-0, on Friday as he turned aside 30 shots. Ward or former Flyer Brian Boucher will get the call on Saturday. On Friday night, however, Carolina coach Paul Maurice said he planned to start Boucher, a popular player during three different stints in Philadelphia.
As for the confidence-drained Bryzgalov, he has a 5.05 GAA and .802 save percentage in his last four appearances, all losses.
A year ago, the Flyers won three of four from the Hurricanes, outscoring Peter Laviolette’s former team, 15-7.
