Two streaking Russians - Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov and Washington forward Alex Ovechkin - will be on display Thursday in a key Eastern Conference matchup at the Wells Fargo Center.

Bryzgalov’s sizzling month includes a 1-0 win in Washington in which he made 34 saves on March 4. He is 8-1-1, with a 1.27 goals-against average and .955 save percentage this month.

Ovechkin has five goals in his last four games and has 32 goals this season. The left winger has two goals - both scored in the Capitals’ 5-2 win at the Wells Fargo Center on Oct. 20 - and is minus-2 in the three games against the Flyers.

The Flyers (42-23-8) are fifth in the Eastern Conference, four points behind Pittsburgh. Washington (37-30-6) sits eighth, the final playoff spot, in the East. The Capitals are tied in points with Buffalo, but have played one fewer game than the Sabres.

How will the streaking Flyers finish the regular season?

The Flyers and Caps have nine regular-season games left. Washington is five points behind Florida in the Southeast race.

In three starts against the Caps this season, Bryzgalov is 2-1 with a 2.00 GAA and .936 save percentage.

For what it's worth, here are the numbers posted this season by left wingers Ovechkin and Scott Hartnell:

      Hartnell: 35 goals, 29 assists, 64 points, 15 power-play goals, plus- 21, 130 PIM.

      Ovechkin: 32 goals, 24 assists, 56 points, 9 power-play goals, minus-10, 26 PIM.

Hard to believe, Harry.
