'Bob' gets the start vs. Penguins

POSTED: Thursday, March 24, 2011, 11:08 AM

Do the Flyers have enough talent in goal to win the Stanley Cup?
Yes.
No.

Flyers coach Peter Laviolette is giving rookie goalie Sergei Bobrovsky a chance to redeem himself.

Bobrovsky will start Thursday against the Penguins.

On Tuesday, Bobrovsky was yanked early in the second period after allowing three goals against Washington, which won, 5-4, in a shootout.

Good choice going back to Bob tonight. He should have a nice game and redeem himself for his performance on Tuesday.

I will never purchase a car at Audi Willow Grove after being bombarded with the advertising that blasts at a high volume. I know you guys have to get advertising revenue but c'mon.

Tripod I CANNOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE! After you backspace to the main page and click another article, there it is again.
On another note, smart move to get Bob back in. He doesn't do well when he's sitting too long.

Somehow this kid needs to catch fire again. This is a great spot for him tonight... Hang on tight Flyers fan, this may be a bumpy road till June.

This whole goalie mess could have been averted by signing Ray Emery to a cheap, two-way AHL/NHL deal... He wanted to come back, and he is now 3-0-0 with a 1.51 ERA with Anaheim. Could have let Boosh back up, and let Bob get some more experience in the AHL.

That is the lowest ERA for a goalie in history!

It is obvious Lavy believes a hot rookie goalie can win a cup (as happened for him in Carolina) and is hoping Bob can get hot but this may be Bob's last chance though as he may decide on Boucher as his guy after tonight if Bob does not do well.

shs44, I don't know if that was an option. From Emery's perspective, the Ducks were going to be the better opportunity to play, due to Hiller's injury. At the time Emery signed that contract, both Bobrovsky and Boucher were playing pretty well, and Emery would have had to play well enough in the AHL (competing with Leighton) to even get the opportunity to come up to the NHL and compete with Bob and Boucher.
