Betts out; Briere back

BUFFALO _ Center Blair Betts, the Flyers' top penalty-killer, will not play Friday in Buffalo because of a knee injury.

As a precuation, Betts will probably also miss Saturday's regular-season finale against the visiting Islanders, GM Paul Holmgren said.

Danny Briere has recovered from a groin injry and will play Friday night against his ex-team. There is a chance enforcer Jody Shelley will also return to the lineup.

The Flyers have a one-point lead over Pittsburgh in the Atlantic Division. They are four points behind Washington in the East.

The Flyers can win the division with a win Friday coupled with a Piitsburgh loss at the Islanders. The Flyers could also wrap up the Atlantic with a point Friday _ and a Penguins regulation loss.
