The numbers are numbing.
At home, the Flyers are 1-2-1 and have been outscored 16-11. On the road, they are 3-0 and have outscored their opponents, 12-3.
At home, they are allowing a little under four goals per game. On they road, they are surrendering just one goal per game.

Center Brayden Schenn, from all accounts, is going to be a quality NHL player.
But it’s fair to wonder if the Flyers promoted him too soon.
Not because of his ability, mind you. The 20-year-old center appears to be NHL-ready.

UPDATE: Here are the lines for the Flyers on Thursday:Claude Giroux centering Jaromir Jagr and JVR; Danny Briere centering Matt Read and Wayne Simmonds; Brayden Schenn centering Scott Hartnell and Jakub Voracek; and Sean Couturier centering Max Talbot and Andreas Nodl.

After serving a 10-game, NHL-imposed suspension — including the first five contests in the regular season — Flyers left winger/enforcer Jody Shelley is eager to return to the lineup.

The Flyers have recalled Brayden Schenn from the Phantoms and sent Zac Rinaldo and Harry Zolnierczyk to Adirondack.
Schenn, 20, had four goals and four assists in four AHL games this season.
The moves leave the Flyers with about $21,000 in cap room. That's not enough to make another move, though the Flyers do have an extra forward (Andreas Nodl or Jody Shelley) and defenseman (Matt Walker or Andreas Lilja) on their roster.

OTTAWA, Ontario _ The Flyers' best rookie, from all accounts, is still playing for the AHL Phantoms.
That would be Brayden Schenn.
But the stock of the other first-year players is rising. Quickly.

OTTAWA - Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky will make his first start of the season when the Flyers play in Ottawa Tuesday night.
Bobrovksy, 23, had a strong preseason, compiling a 0.40 goals-against average and .984 save percentage, but he is the understudy to Ilya Bryzgalov, who signed a nine-year, $51 million deal in the summer.
The Flyers (3-0-1) have notched points in all four games; Ottawa is just 1-4, but showed positive signs in a 2-1 loss in Washington Saturday.

The Flyers are 3-0-1 despite a continual parade to the penalty box in the first four games.
They have been shorthanded 40 minutes and 15 seconds _ or a little over 10 minutes a game. Only Carolina (41:41) and Dallas (43:35) have spent more time shorthanded in the 30-team NHL.
But the Flyers are averaging more shorthanded time per game than ANY NHL team. Carolina and Dallas have played five games, one more than the Flyers.

Flyers West outlasted the Flyers on Saturday night.
The Los Angeles Kings got huge contributions from ex-Flyers Justin Williams, Mike Richards and Simon Gagne as they scored a 3-2 overtime win at the Wells Fargo Center.
Williams scored a pair of goals, Gagne had an assist, and Richards set up Jack Johnson’s game-winner 1:38 into overtime.

Former Flyers captain Mike Richards just wants to play Saturday’s night’s game against his ex-teammates and move on.
“I’m going to treat it like every other game,” the Los Angeles Kings’ center said on Saturday morning, where most of his team skated at the Wells Fargo Center. Richards did not skate.
Asked if he was curious about how the fans would treat him, Richards said, “No. I’ve been booed and cheered in every barn, so it won’t be anything new. I’m not concerned about that. I’m concerned about coming in here and playing hockey the way I can play _ and go out there and get a win and go back to the West Coast.”

Most of the attention has been placed on former Flyers captain Mike Richards’ return to the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday night with the Los Angeles Kings.
But there will be another guy who will be on the ice and was a big part of the blockbuster summer trade, Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds.
Acquired from the Kings with Brayden Schenn and a No. 2 pick in 2012, Simmonds will be facing his ex-teammates for the first time.
