Poll: Mayor Nutter refuses soda money to fight obesity

POSTED: Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 5:00 AM

Should Mayor Nutter accept soda money to fight obesity?
Sure, despite the source, it's for a good cause
No, soda industry just wants to look good while making us fat.
Yes, Nutter was happy to take soda barons' money to get elected.
No, soda tax is better way to promote health.

Mayor Nutter has refused a grant to help fight obesity, because the money comes from the soda industry.

The mayor has feuded with the industry over his proposal to place a tax on sugary drinks, which is intended to cut soda consumption and help reduce obesity, especially among youth.

Is Nutter making the right call?

Tell us what you think. Cast your vote now.
