Philadelphia's new logo resembles the old Bell Telephone Co. symbol.
It took a team of 65 people working (for free) for a year, but the city of Philadelphia now has a new logo.
The re-branding effort depicts a tilted Liberty Bell, accompanied by the slogan: "City of Philadelphia. Life. Liberty. And You."
This being Philly, we wonder if any thought was given to "Life. Liberty. And Yo."
One version of the logo resembles the old Bell Telephone symbol, which was minus the crack.
Why the new logo? The Office of the City Representative cited "a need to establish a unified voice for all Philadelphia departments and projects." If a logo can get everyone at City Hall working from the same page, it will be a magic logo indeed.
It took 65 people working for a year to come up with the Liberty Bell as a city logo? REALLY? ChuckB
being in an idustry that deals with graphic designers, and often times dealing specifically with logo development; did any of the 65 people actually function as a graphic designer in any capacity? Certainly doesn't make me proud to be a Philly boy. beezer77
