Data Systems Analysts is one of a few Philadelphia-area firms among 61 named by the federal General Services Administration to the list of approved contractors for the government's Alliant 2 information technology and professional services project.

Besides the more than 400-person military and civilian government computing contractor based in Trevose, other firms that made the list include Blue Bell-based Unisys and national firms with Philadelphia offices such as Accenture and Leidos.

The estimated $50 billion, 10-year Alliant 2 contracts will include "big data, cloud computing, cybersecurity, agile development, biometrics and identity management, sensors and radio frequency identification, data-center consolidation, shared IT services, web analytics and hosting, software development, internet of things, and related IT support services," GovConWire reports here.

Getting on the Alliant 2 list "is important to DSA's growth strategy," DSA CFO (and EVP) John Foley told me in an email. DSA sales rose from $135 million last year to a projected $170 million this year (which includes Project Performance Co. sales). Last summer, DSA acquired PPC, a McLean, Va., $20 million (yearly sales) government IT and management-consulting firm, as it sought to expand its customer base.

DSA, founded in the early 1960s by former RCA engineers, is controlled by an employee stock-ownership program and has offices in the Washington, D.C. area and near other U.S. military centers.
