World Cup e-chatter champs: Brazil, JLo, Adidas, says SAP

Software spies keeping track

The busy social-media spies at SAP AG, based in Germany but run by Newtown Square-based CEO Bill McDermott, have sorted more than 10 million World Cup-related Tweets, Facebook posts, and other social media trackables from around the world -- weighted mostly toward the rich English-speaking countries, but with hundreds of thousands from each of Indonesia, Nigeria, South Africa and Malaysia, too -- and find that, so far:

- Two European-team star forwards, England's Wayne Rooney and Portugal's Christiano Ronaldo, are the most-mentioned players;

- Brazil, England and Spain are the most-talked-about teams;

- Adidas is the most talked-about sponsor-advertiser, with roughly double the mentions of Coca-Cola, Sony or McDonald's, and four times Castrol or Budweiser;

- Jennifer Lopez's futbol anthem We Are One is crushing Shakira's LaLaLa Brazil by more than 2:1 (JLo is also bigger than Adidas.)
