Wachovia merger talks 'on hold'

The Federal Reserve's rescue of Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs and their reorganization as government-regulated commercial banks (instead of independent investment banks) means merger talks between Morgan and Wachovia Corp. are on ice, says the Financial Times.
