Unitek revives, hires Comcast installers

After 2014-15 bankruptcy

UniTek Global, a King of Prussia company that installs customer systems for Comcast, AT&T and AT&T's DirecTV, is hiring again after exiting Chapter 11 bankruptcy, writes Questek's FierceInstaller newsletter here. (Thanks to Tom Paine's PhillyTechNews feed.)

UniTek's FTS USA unit has advertised for Comcast installers in Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Ft. Worth, Tex., according to FierceInstaller, while also posting help-wanteds for its DirectSAT division in Harrisburg, Bethlehem and Pittsburgh,  and in Wisconsin and northern New Jersey.

UniTek employed 3,200 and owed $186 million when it filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in Wilmington, in late 2014. The company emerged three months later, replaced CEO Rocky Romanella with John Haggerty and new credit agreements from lenders.
