Target is opening 27 new U.S. stores this summer, including five in Southeastern Pennsylvania on Sunday: Cheltenham Square, Upland Shopping Center (Pottstown), and Exeter Commons (Reading), Lower Nazareth (Easton), and Airport Plaza (Allentown).

Each store around 130,000 square feet, includes a Starbucks and a pharmacy, and employs around 165. "Target is one of the few retailers expanding during these challenging times," said real estate agent Steve Niggeman of Metro Commercial Realty, who handled the deal with colleagues Tom Londres and Mike Gerlach.
