Sidecar raises another $1M from Philly eCommerce gang

Center City 'marketing automation' firm on the move

Sidecar, Andre Golsorkhi's Center City-based digital-marketing automation company, says it has raised another $1 million from its group of mostly Philadelphia-based investment backers, including NextStage Capital, Richard Vague's Gabriel Investments, Innovation Ventures, MAG, Robin Hood Ventures, and online-commerce pioneer Michael Rubin, who sold GSI Commerce to eBay and now runs Kynetic Ventures, which owns the team-brand sportswear distributor Fanatics, among other businesses.

"The Philadelphia area is a real center of the e-commerce industry," home to Kynetic, eBay's former GSI businesses, the fast-growing online operations of Urban Outfitters and Destination Maternity, Weblink, and Revzilla, the Amazon.com of motorcycles, Sidecar founder Golsorkhi told me in an interview last fall. Revzilla, based in the Navy Yard business center, is a Sidecar client.
