SAP AG, the German business-software giant whose CEO Bill McDermott is based in Newtown Square, says it will launch the NFL Player Comparison Tool, "an enhanced fantasy football analytics platform," on Wednesday, to be constantly updated using realtime player stats, so fantasy-football players can "make more-informed, winning decisions" as they "draft" their teams.
SAP has been moving its new lines of cloud-based data software into mass-user products, including sports marketing, to boost its brand as its business software is adapted for smartphones and other personal computing devices. The new analytics platform is "an extremely valuable fantasy football tool," NFL Digital Media product executive Cory Mummery said in a statement. SAP marketing chief Jonathan Becher predicted "a significant, long-term role" for the tool in "fantasy football culture."
