New hotel chain based in Wilmington
Buccini/Pollin's LuxiaSuites
Wilmington's busy and well-connected Buccini/Pollin Group Inc. on Thursday will open a new LuxiaSuites corporate extended-stay hotel in the Nemours office building at 1007 N. Orange St., part of the complex originally built to house the DuPont Co.
The location was formerly a Marriott ExecuStay; Buccini/Pollin calls it the flagship of a new chain it's developing. Other LuxiaSuites sites include the company's Christina Landing tower complex near the city's Amtrak station and the former Delaware Trust building on Wilmington's Market St.
Buccini/Pollin is also building a from-scratch Westin hotel, with state assistance, along the Christina waterfront near the Blue Rocks stadium and the new Penn movie theater complex.
