Mutual fund layoffs spread
Here's the three most-read stories this week at www.ignites.com, the Financial Times' mutual funds newsletter and link-sheet. The links are subscriber-only, but the facts are well known, so we'll summarize:

1. Other Shoe Drops at Fidelity  - 1,700 job cuts at Fidelity Investments, after 1,300 earlier this year.

2. Capital Group Warns Employees of Layoffs  - American Funds owner Capital Group warns workers of cuts in the Global Institutional Group.

3. Dozen Managers Axed in Putnam Purge  - Putnam funds cuts from near the top.
