IT deal: KKR's Optiv buys Malvern-based Comm Solutions

Optiv Security, a Denver-based cybersecurity company that has been eyeing acquisitions across the U.S. since it was purchased by private-equity giant KKR in February, said today it has bought Comm Solutions, a Malvern-based, 71-person "provider of end-to-end cyber security solutions" selling to companies in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware.

Sellers are Comm Solutions CEO Paul Black and President John Black. Price not disclosed.

Paul Black, who joined what was then called Communications Cable Co. in 1988 and changed its focus from small-cable assembly to its current role as an IT reseller, will remain in charge of Comm Solutions at least until the deal is concluded later this year.  More at CRN.com here.
