Griffin deal pro holds Boscov's hand

  Accountant Michael J. Hughes walked Boscov's Department Stores through its last busy months of capital raising, and he's the one who wrote up the company's struggles and needs as part of its Chapter 11 reorganization filings in Wilmington on Monday.
  Hughes joined Boscov in April from Griffin Financial LLC, where he'd worked as chief operating officer. He previously worked for the Berwind family's industrial investment group, and at Sam McCullough's former Meridian Bank. 
  Griffin is the investment bank that’s joined at the hip to Reading law firm Stevens & Lee. Both have a history with Reading-based Boscov. Now he'll help the company and its creditors put together the reorganization plan that's supposed to be ready by October.
