Philadelphia-area venture investors Murex Investments and Garret Melby's Iolite Social Capital have joined with Robert Fishman's social-services contracting firm Resources for Human Development Inc. to set up GoodCompany Ventures, "a business incubator targeting entrepreneurs with innovative solutions to unmet social needs," says Murex partner Jacob Gray.

In a statement, Iolite's Melby compared the program to Xerox Parc "and other technology incubators," but with a "socially and environmentally sustainable focus." Applicants looking for advice and funding for "innovative solutions to big, unmet social needs" are directed to the Web site or email: info@GoodCompanyVentures.com
