FinTech is now CardConnect

FinTech Acqusition Corp., the latest financial company set up in the Philadelphia area by former Jefferson Bank boss Betsy Zubrow Cohen and her son Daniel Gideon Cohen, has competed its purchase of King of Prussia payment-processing CardConnect LLC and renamed itself CardConnect Corp.

FinTech Acqusition Corp., the latest financial company set up in the Philadelphia area by former Jefferson Bank boss Betsy Zubrow Cohen and her son Daniel Gideon Cohen, has competed its purchase of King of Prussia payment-processing CardConnect LLC and renamed itself CardConnect Corp. -- CCN on the Nasdaq stock market.

Since the early 1970s, Cohen and her family have ranked among Philadelphia's most durable financial-energy-real estate investors. She has stepped down in recent months as chairman of both FinTech and the troubled Bancorp Bank.

Other CardConnect bosses include CFO Chuck Bernicker, COO Patrick Shanahan, and chief information officer Abe Marciano, formerly of Braintree Payments. 

Major CardConnect shareholders include the Cohens, Polar Asset Management, Wellington Mangement Co. (which runs funds for Vanguard Group and others), and private-equity investor (and former Inquirer owner) Angelo Gordon & Co.
