As Gov. Corbett seeks ways to sell the State Stores, the PA Liquor Control Board announces a friendly new retail outlet on Columbus Blvd.
Gov.-elect Tom Corbett says he wants to sell Pennsylvania's wine and liquor State Stores, though it's far from clear he has the votes, even from fellow Republicans who will control both Houses of the General Assembly, to make it happen.
The endangered Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board plans its first urban location for its new-style, yuppie-friendly, come-taste-this State Store model, tomorrow Tuesday 1 pm, 1940 Christopher Columbus Blvd. in South Philadelphia. "The first two prototype stores, located in New Hope and Harrisburg, have reported an increase in retail sales," PCLB says hopefully.
