Update: "...The report that Comcast has a deal to purchase NBC Universal is inaccurate," Comcast spokeswoman D'Arcy Foster-Rudnay tells Bloomberg here. Rudnay "declined to comment" on a report it's been in talks with NBC owner General Electric Corp.

Earlier: Philadelphia's Comcast "is in talks to buy the entertainment giant NBC-Universal from General Electric" for $35 billion, former New York Times reporter Sharon Waxman reports on her Web site, TheWrap.com, citing unnamed sources here.

This deal will cut the budget deficit in half for the coming years. Just wait til they move the offices to Philly and they hit all of the employees with the ridiculous city tax!!!

There goes the neighborhood. No matter how you slice it, dice it, or buy it, Comcast still sucks.

nyc has a city tax. ny state has a higher income tax than pennsylvania. far higher. if one ever left philadelphia he or she might understand that. regardless...a bold move on comcast's part.

Uh, Comcast is amazing compared to TimeWarner in NYC. Their customer service and user interface are absolutely horrendous.
