St. Joseph's Prep quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg will announce his college decision Tuesday in a 2 p.m. conference call. He is expected to commit to Penn State, according to sources.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior orginially gave a verbal committment to Stanford as a sophomore but opted out when coach Jim Harbaugh took the 49ers job.
Mornhinweg confirmed that he is not staying with Stanford, but would not reveal his choice until the press conference.
Penn State, Tennessee, Alabama and are believed to be the leading candidates for his services.
Mornhinweg and his father, Marty, the Eagles offensive coordinator, took an official visit to Penn State last month. According to a source, they met with coach Joe Paterno and his staff and came away very impressed with the program.
