Recruit explains why he decommitted from Penn State

Three star prospect Zach Bradshaw opened up as to why he decommitted from Penn State.

Bradshaw, a wide receiver and linebacker from Damascus (Md.), was the third player to decommit from Penn State since the NCAA sanctions and the fourth since the Freeh Report was released.

In a video with the Washington Post, Bradshaw said the decision was hard. "Initially I was really excited about Penn State," Bradshaw said. "And I didn't really think anything like the sanctions were going to happen."

Bradshaw, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect, committed to Virginia in August. He had committed to Penn State in June.

He said he talked to the Penn State coaches throughout the process "and they didn't know of anything was going to come of it." Then Bradshaw heard rumors about the sanctions and began to reconsider.

"I didn't imagine it was going to be anything like it was," Bradshaw said. "Then when I watched it on TV and everything I knew that it just wasn't going to work out, I guess. It wasn't the best option for me."

Penn State still intends to sign its highest two verbal commitments, quarterback Christian Hackenberg and tight end Adam Brenamen.
