Penn State-Indiana first quarter update

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. --

1. With his first catch of the game, wide receiver Deon Butler set the Penn State all-time record for career receptions with 168. The senior passed Bobby Engram into first.

2. Daryll Clark's troubles continue. After a Mark Rubin interception gave Penn State first and goal on the Indiana 6, the Lions quarterback fumbled a yard short of the end zone on a keeper. The play was reviewed, but Clark clearly had the ball stripped. Penn State continues to fail inside the red zone and capitalize on opportunities.

3. It may be time to cancel those Rose Bowl travel plans. I'm not saying the Lions will lose to the Hoosiers, but next week's Michigan State game looks less and less like a sure bet.

Score: Penn State 0, Indiana 0 (zzzzzzzzzz ... )
