Penn State wrestlers ranked No. 1 in coaches' poll

The defending national champion Penn State wrestling team garnered seven of 10 first-place votes to earn the preseason No. 1 ranking in the NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches' Poll, which was released Thursday.

The defending national champion Penn State wrestling team garnered seven of 10 first-place votes to earn the preseason No. 1 ranking in the NWCA/USA TODAY Division I Team Coaches' Poll, which was released Thursday. 

With two first-place votes, Big Ten rival Iowa is No. 2, while Oklahoma State is No. 3 with one-first place vote. Minnesota and Cornell rounded out the top five.

The Nittany Lions open their season Thursday with an intrasquad dual at Rec Hall.
