Penn State receives votes in polls

Penn State (3-1) received votes in both polls that were released on Sunday but remained unranked for the third week in a row. The Nittany Lions garnered 34 votes in the USA TODAY coaches poll and nine votes in the AP Top 25.

Outside the schools ranked Nos. 1 through 25 in the USA TODAY poll, only three schools got more votes than Penn State.

Penn State beat Eastern Michigan 34-6 on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

In last week's rankings, the Lions received 19 votes in the USA TODAY poll and none in the AP poll. They were ranked in both polls before their 27-11 home loss to Alabama on Sept. 10.
