Penn State moves up in BCS standings

A day after its 20-14 win at Ohio State, Penn State moved up two spots to No. 19 in the latest BCS standings released Sunday night. The Nittany Lions (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten), who play at Wisconsin Saturday for a berth in the Dec. 3 Big Ten title game, are also No. 19 in the USA TODAY coaches’ poll and No. 20 in the Associated Press poll.

LSU remained No. 1 in the BCS, while Alabama jumped back up to No. 2. Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech rounded out the top five, respectively.

Ranked No. 14, Michigan State is the top-ranked Big Ten team in the BCS standings. The Spartans clinched the Legends Division on Saturday. Michigan is No. 15, while Wisconsin enters its crucial game against Penn State at No. 16. Nebraska is No. 21.
