Penn State makes single-game tickets available -- with a catch
Penn State announced that single-game tickets will be available for the public to purchase beginning Tuesday but there's a catch for those who want to see Michigan or Nebraska at Beaver Stadium.
Penn State will begin public sale of single-game tickets for the 2013 home season on Tuesday. But if you want to see a pair of marquee Beaver Stadiuim matchups against Michigan and Nebraska, there is a catch.
Those interested in purchasing tickets to the Michigan game on Oct. 12 will be required to buy the same amount of tickets to the Eastern Michigan game on Sept. 7. In the same fashion, those wishing to purchase tickets for the contest against Nebraska on Nov. 23 also must buy the same number of tickets to the Sept. 21 game against Kent State.
Athletic director Dave Joyner is expected to address the ticket-buying policy later Wednesday at the Big Ten football media days in Chicago.
Penn State's pricing for single-game tickets, which is pro-rated from the pricing of a season ticket, incorporates a Nittany Lion Club donation amount for each seat and are based on seat locations at Beaver Stadium. The prices range from $70 for bench seats from the end zone to the 10-yard line, to $140 for seats between the 30-yard lines.
The sale of single-game tickets to the public begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, either at www.gopsusports.com/tickets, or by calling 1-800-648-8269. (1-800-NITTANY).
The university said season tickets remain available, with information at the web site or phone number listed above.
