Penn State gets commitment from Virginia offensive lineman

Penn State has received an oral commitment from 6-foot-5, 255-pound offensive lineman Tanner Hartman of Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Va., according to several recruiting web sites.

Hartman, the 11th commitment to Penn State’s freshman class of 2013, had pledged last July to Maryland but changed his mind.

Temple, Richmond and Liberty reportedly also made scholarship offers to Hartman, rated a two-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

Hartman plays at Liberty Christian for coach Frank Rocco Jr., a former Penn State quarterback.
