Penn State accepts bid to TicketCity Bowl
Penn State (9-3) will play Houston (12-1) in the TicketCity Bowl at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas on Jan. 2, Penn State confirmed Sunday evening.
The TicketCity Bowl is seventh in the bowl pecking order for the Big Ten. Speculation was that Iowa (7-5), Northwestern (6-6) and Ohio State (6-6) were selected before Penn State because of negative publicity stemming from the recent sexual abuse scandal that has rocked the university.
Penn State is 2-0 all-time against Houston. The two schools have not played since 1977.
More to come.
