Penn State announced Tuesday that its Homecoming football game against Northwestern on Sept. 27 at Beaver Stadium will kick off at noon.

The network for the game (Big Ten Network, ESPN or ESPN2) will be announced 12 days before the game.

The Nittany Lions have a 13-3 record on the field against the Wildcats, including their win over Northwestern, 39-28, in the 2012 Homecoming game. The two teams did not meet last year.

Tuesday’s announcement marks the fifth starting time set for the 2014 season. The Nittany Lions open their season in Dublin, Ireland, on Aug. 30 against Central Florida at 8:30 a.m., Philadelphia time, on ESPN2.

There also are three night contests – Sept. 13 at Rutgers at 8 p.m. (BTN), Oct. 11 at Michigan at 7 p.m. (ESPN or ESPN2), and Oct. 25 at home versus Ohio State at 8 p.m. (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2).
