SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Yes, I'm in Savannah. Great town, by the way. But it's killing me that I'm not home to celebrate the Phils' World Series title and partake in tomorrow's parade. I'm taking a break from the beat, so my posts will come at a slower pace over the next few days. But here's the link to this morning's story on best friends Aaron Maybin and Navorro Bowman, two of the better stories in this sun-kissed Penn State season.

A good story you should look at writing. After all the negative publicity about the football team, of the current top 25 teams in the AP poll, Penn State is ranked 2nd in graduation rate, tied with North Carolina and only a percent behind Texas Tech. And where are Alabama and Texas, way down the list! Also Penn State's graduation rate is 2nd in the Big Ten behind only Northwestern. Not only has Joe got a winner, he still gets these kids to study and get an education.
