Mauti named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

The accolades keep pouring in for Penn State senior linebacker Mike Mauti.

A day after he was named the National Defensive Player of the Week, the Big Ten honored Mauti for his two interception, six tackle performance against Illinois.

Mauti was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season -- and third time in his career.

The Nittany Lions' defense stifled Illinois' offense, limiting the Illini to just seven points.

For the season, Mauti has 48 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
