Delaware wide receiver Justin Brown has ended the suspense and is going to be a Nittany Lion. The four-star senior made it official at a 2 p.m. news conference at his high school in Wilmington.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Brown picked Penn State over Rutgers. He fills a hole at wide receiver with the departures of Deon Butler, Jordan Norwood and Derrick Williams. Brett Brackett, Graham Zug and Derek Moye are expected to be the starters next season, but Brown could come in and compete for one of the spots.

Penn State lost out on top-ranked linebacker Jelani Jenkins earlier today -- he chose Florida -- but some consider bagging Brown more important for the Lions. The only other recruit left on the board is Massachusetts defensive back Jim Noel.

Looks like our ranking is #26 on Rivals. Why is that good enough for Nittany Nation? It's not good enough from my perspective.

Looks like our ranking is #9 on Scout. I think, at the end of the day, trying to project how good a class really is or an individual player is very subjective. I mean, Deon Butler set the PSU all-time record for receptions and he was a walk on. It is how well you coach the players up that matters and we have a guy and a staff with hundreds of years(literally)of coaching up student athletes. Take the rankings with a grain of salt and instead project how well PSU did in filling holes from departed seniors and declaring underclassmen(looking at you Maybin and Evans)

Both Scout and ESPN have them ranked higher than that, Scout much higher. Three different services, 3 different rankings because it's just an opinion as of now. Some of PSU's best players lately have only been "3 star guys" so we'll see. It looks to be a good class, though not great. Off topic, what was Mo Evans thinking going pro?? I mean, Maybin, yeah, but Evans could have come back next year and raised his stock significantly, and earned himself a lot more $$$ in the process.

PSU96...They are ranked #10 by Scout.com so these rankings are subjective. By most online accounts they had a good recruiting year. BTW, how many 4 or 5 star recruits did Utah have the last few years and how many times was Notre Dame in the top 10? Maybe these rankings don't carry that much weight, huh?

He's got some big shoes to fill, Deon Butler is a huge loss. I hope he does well.

You like Zug(he was a 2 star recruit/schools that recruited him were Virginia, Navy, Richmond, Delaware, Elon, Stoney Brook, and Towson, not exactly powerhouses) and Brackett(who was a qb in highschool)? What have they done? They are gonna be the top 2? PSU seems to not be paying too much attention to the skill positions. They have no good wr's(hopefully Brown will get a chance to play a lot), who knows how well Stephfon Greene will come back from his injury to split time with Royster, and they got Kevin Newsome, but if he doesn't work out or gets hurt after next year, they have no qb. Hopefully things will work out.

Paul Poslusney was a three star recruit. Rivals is full of four and five star recruits that went nowhere in college.

PSU haad a good recruiting class, but Ohio St., Michigan and even Michigan St. appear to have done better. I agree you can't put too much stock in rankings, but D. Williams was last five-star impact player for the Lions. A few more studs may have PSU on an elite level like Florida
