Penn State faces Iowa at 8 p.m. tomorrow in a clash of two teams undefeated in Big Ten play. All the while, the Nittany Lions and Hawkeyes are taking part in another competition.
This one is off the field.
Both teams have made offers to Aaron Wimberly, a 5-foot-11 running back for Iowa Western Community College, the top-ranked junior college in the country.
Wimberly's offer from the Hawkeyes was announced by Iowa Western on its official Twitter account Friday afternoon. Wimberly, who has 83 carries for 622 yards and six touchdowns through six games this season, is verbally committed to Iowa State. He is from Iowa.
The Nittany Lions also made an offer to Wimberly's teammate -- and roommate -- quarterback Jake Waters. Waters is fielding offers from Kansas State, North Carolina State and Akron among other schools.
