Georgia defensive back commits to Penn State

Georgia defensive back Kasey Gaines has given an oral commitment to Penn State, according to several recruiting web sites.

Kasey Gaines, a defensive back from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., has given an oral commitment to Penn State to be part of the freshman class of 2013, several web sites reported Wednesday night.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Gaines, rated two stars by recruiting web site Scout.com, had received one other offer from an FBS school, Miami of Ohio, and a number of offers from FCS schools. He intercepted five passes last season for Grayson.

Gaines is the 10th player on Penn State's list of commitments for 2013 but only the second since NCAA sanctions were imposed on July 23. The Nittany Lions had as many as 14 commitments before the sanctions but have lost six of them.
