Mood on Main Street - Newton, Iowa

An occasional series about politics in the Obama era, looking at Newton, Iowa, a town in the center of the state that launched the president to the White House. Newton was Maytag's company town for years, but globalization killed washing-machine manufacturing there in 2007. Since then, the town has been struggling to remake itself as a center of the fledgling alternative-energy industry.
