Lousy predictions
What was I thinking? In today’s Inquirer, I predicted that the Downingtown West girls’ team and the Downingtown West, Central Bucks East, Christopher Dock and Midd-West boys’ squads would advance to Saturday’s PIAA state soccer championships. The Downingtown West boys’ team was my only correct pick. The Whippets defeated Neshaminy, 4-0, in a Class AAA state semifinal. Peters Township took a 2-0 victory over Central Bucks East in the other Class AAA state semifinal. Pottsgrove pounded Midd-West, 3-0, in a Class AA semifinal, while Camp Hill nipped Christopher Dock, 1-0, in a Class A semi. On the girls’ side, Conestoga defeated Downingtown West, 1-0, in a Class AAA semifinal. Perhaps, I should retire from making predictions. I will . . . until Saturday. That’s when my state-championship predictions will run The Inquirer. Stay tuned.
