Germantown Academy's Hoy reaches milestone

I’m going to miss seeing Germantown Academy senior Jen Hoy on the soccer field.

Opposing coaches, however, will be elated when her high-school career ends in six games.

That’s because the striker has the ability to score at will. And the Princeton recruit often does.

The 17-year-old scored her 100th career goal in today’s 3-1 Inter-Ac League girls’ soccer victory over Episcopal Academy. She tallied two goals to give her 100 with six matches left in the season.

"This is something I have been working for since last year when I realized it could happen,” said Hoy, whose squad improved to 11-2-2 overall and 9-0 in league play.

Her first goal made it a 2-1 contest in the 31st minute. The milestone came three minutes later from around 16 yards out.

Kaci Kergides scored the Patriots’ other goal, while Ashley McCormick scored for the Churchmen (5-5-1, 3-5-0).
