Connolly surpasses milestone
Souderton boys' basketball player Jimmy Connolly became the fifth player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points last night.
The 6-foot-3 senior shooting guard reached the milestone while scoring 29 points in Souderton's 60-43 victory over Central Bucks East. As a result, Connolly took 1,016 points into tonight's contest against Quakertown.
"He is the best shooter in the area ... and one very unselfish terrific kid," Souderton coach Perry Engard said of the standout.
Engard added that Connolly is attracting recruiting interest from American University, Lehigh, St. Francis, New Jersey Institute of Technology, West Chester and Kutztown.
