Connolly heads to Philly U

Congratulations goes out to Souderton senior Jimmy Connolly for accepting a full scholarship to play basketball at Philadelphia University. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard had also received attention from American University, Lehigh, St. Francis, New Jersey Institute of Technology, West Chester, Kutztown and Chestnut Hill College. Connolly averaged 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals against double-team defenses before being sidelined a few weeks with a sprained ankle in January. He had collected over 1,100 career points at Souderton in three seasons. Connolly transferred from La Salle as a sophomore. - Keith Pompey
