Bill Iezzi: Softball Playoff Wish

While I was checking out the South Group 4 brackets for the forthcoming softball playoffs, I spotted No. 4 seed Williamstown and No. 5 Eastern on the left side.

These two big-school teams haven't played each other this season, so I thought that it'd be nice to see them go at it.  However, two things must happen first.

Williamstown has to defeat No. 13 Absegami and Eastern has to beat No. 12 Lenape on May 18 in the first round.

Based on seeding, Williamstown and Eastern should be able to get to the next round on May 20 to see who will advance to a semifinal on May 25.

Williamstown (9-5) hasn't played as many games as Eastern (12-6), but the Braves - the two-time Group 4 state champs - have that championship experience and pride among their leaders and that will make every postseason game they're in very interesting.
