Bill Iezzi: Region 7 Wrestling on for Saturday

The Region 7 wrestling tournament will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 27) and continue throughout the day at Robbinsville High School in Mercer County.

Action is scheduled to begin with the quarterfinal round. Wrestlebacks are set for 12 noon, consolation finals at 4:30 p.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.

Quarterfinals and wrestlebacks had been scheduled for today; however, a snow storm forced school officials to combine Friday and Saturday's events into one day of competition.

Expected highlights are at 119 pounds, 140, 145. Eastern's Rob Deutsch and Camden Catholic's Matt Sausman, both juniors, could clash in the final at 119. Deutsch is a two-time region champ and Sausman placed third in the state at 103 last season.

Willingboro junior James Green and Eastern senior Hank Stinson could tangle again at 140. Green, who won a Region 7 crown at 125 last season, defeated Stinson, a state champ in 2008, 5-3, in the District 26 final.

At 145 Anthony Baldosaro has a score to settle with Camden Catholic's Taylor Walsh, who won by injury default when they wrestled during the regular season. Both are seniors and both are state champions.
