Timber Creek and Washington Township had 23 quarterfinal winners at the District 30 wrestling tournament Feb. 19 at Overbrook.

Timber Creek and Township, state runners-up as teams, were expected to do well. But what about wrestlers from teams with losing records?

Lindenwold did the best. The Lions, whose team record was 7-8, advanced seven wrestlers to the semis.

St. Joseph, Highland and Winslow Township, which also had sub .500 records as teams, also had a nice showing.

St. Joseph had four grapplers advance, while Highland and Winslow each had three.
