The Bishop Eustace field hockey team yesterday hosted Haddonfield in a state Group 2 semifinal. State semis and finals are supposed to be held at a neutral site on an artificial-turf field.

There's the rub, the field surface. Apparently, there were no other artificial-turf sites available, so the Crusaders got the benefit of competing at their home field.

Eustace won, 2-0.
