The Eagles have confirmed that Brian Westbrook will undergo surgery on his right ankle Friday.

Trainer Rick Burkholder described the procedure as a debridement, which means he will have it cleaned out. Westbrook's agent Todd France told ESPN.com earlier tonight that Westbrook was having bone spurs removed from his ankle, which has prevented him from participating in the team's current camp at the NovaCare Complex.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. Mark Myerson in Baltimore.
