Vinny Curry likely to be active for first time this week

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2012, 9:20 AM

Vinny Curry is likely to be active for this week's game against the Carolina Panthers, according to a team source. Curry, the Eagles' second round pick, has not been active in all 10 games this season.

CSNPhilly.com first reported the news.

Throughout the season, the Eagles continued to suggest that Curry was caught up in a numbers game, even though the players ahead of Curry were struggling to get sacks. The Eagles have activated four defensive ends during the past three weeks and five defensive ends during the prior seven games. Phillp Hunt was inactive the past two games, too. Pay attention to whether the Eagles dress four ends against the Panthers or five ends, and sit one defensive tackle.

Look for much more on Curry in The Inquirer this week.

birds are apparently scedhuled to be way OVER the cpa nest year .. so no way do the expensive guys come back next yr (vick, nmandi, demetrus bell ha ha, c jenkins, babin duh, cole prolly gone)
    ..
but dumping andy and his buds will be Jeffey's new pot o GOLD !!!
he can prolly promote a young assistant at easily 1/2 andy's fat salary, and the two next overpaid underperformers are mudd & washedup .. save plenty and still come in 6-10
    >> thats a win in Jeffey's book

You know that will never happen. Too many people who never get a chance to go to an Eagles game would jump at unwanted tickets for cheap. Besides, the tickets are already sold. Lurie wouldn't lose any money, he would just get embarrassed by the empty stadium. Would it be enough get Reid canned now? Maybe, but what good will that do? The whole coaching staff is gone at the end of the season. Let them lose out the rest of the games and get a high draft pick.

I remember some people on this board screaming for Winston Justice, McGlynn and Shipley to be gone because they couldn't block for McNabb, now their praises are being sung because they are doing better on another team? WOW just WOW! 2013, if the Eagles keep the roster they have, will be over the cap so those high priced guys will be gone. The only thing is how long will the new coach have to rebuild the team. There is no depth, that we know of at the corner position and safety positions. The QB, Vick will be gone but do we really have a good idea about Foles. The o-line will need a right guard assuming Watkins stays there. I would move him to backup RT behind Herrimens. Watkins played Tackle at Baylor a position he'll be more familiar with. We can probably get by letting go a few high priced guys at DT and DE. I see a 2 year rebuild at least.

That's just proof positive what a REAL NFL coach can do with players. I bet a Jon Gruden can come here and take these same players and make this team a winner; take them to the play-offs, and win the Super Bowl in LESS than FOURTEEN YEARS.

that stinkin penny pincher needs to follow Reid out the door. Unfortunately, his contract was extended. five more years of bad moves.

Sadly, lil Howie Brownoseman isn't going anywhere. The Eagles will be bottom feeders for a long time to come. Frankly though its deserved for signing Vick. All the fans who supported that criminal deserve a garbage team for many years. All in Dream team! Dynasty!

A second round pick is inactive for the first ten games. Last year's second rounder was already cut. These high picks are a club's most precious resources. Either the Eagles can't draft, coach, or both. Clean house, Lurie!

They need to start releasing some of these lackadaisial players so that the rest of the team knows they could be out of football after each game. That would wake them up. Vick should be released so that he stop telling the players how to play or not.

It may be time for bedpan to officially list the 2012 draft as a failure along with 2010 and 2011. The gold standard is all in again.
