Vinny Curry likely to be active for first time this week

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2012, 9:20 AM

Vinny Curry is likely to be active for this week's game against the Carolina Panthers, according to a team source. Curry, the Eagles' second round pick, has not been active in all 10 games this season.

CSNPhilly.com first reported the news.

Throughout the season, the Eagles continued to suggest that Curry was caught up in a numbers game, even though the players ahead of Curry were struggling to get sacks. The Eagles have activated four defensive ends during the past three weeks and five defensive ends during the prior seven games. Phillp Hunt was inactive the past two games, too. Pay attention to whether the Eagles dress four ends against the Panthers or five ends, and sit one defensive tackle.

Look for much more on Curry in The Inquirer this week.

So who really cares at this point in this losing season??? One player does not a team make! He hasn't played all year? Why now?

Can't blame Howie for this one. It's that fool Reid. If I were a HC, I'd play as many of my players as possible in most games just to ensure they get the used to the speed of, rhthym of, and the flow of the game. This not only keeps them focused, but gives them valuable live game experience they'll NEVER be able to replicate in practice. This will make them BETTER players in the long run. They're useless when you bring them in cold and each, in his own way, can contribute something of value in real time.

Brilliant job Eagles front office geniuses, go pat yourself on the back and make another press release about how great of a job your doing. You are your own biggest fans, just like Momma said. Maybe Jeffrey can hold a conference to tell us how dumb we all are and our rich owner and spoiled staff always know best. It's why they've won zero championships in 15 years.

What you people fail to understand is this is the Gold Standard, a team dripping in talent. A team that doesn't really need contributions from any of its draft selections because it fills the holes through free agency with adroit precision. We are witnessing genius at work and most of you don't appreciate it.

Ed Wade had a 10 year plan and the Eagles, always wanting to one up the Phillies, have put together a 20 year plan!! That's right, a 20 year plan!! This is the "lull the competition into a false sense of security" part of the plan. Don't get rid of Reid before he has a chance to enact his, "See, I'm really not that stupid" portion of the plan.

Playoffs are not happening but that doesn't mean the last 6 games are meaningless. Why post repeating their record and restating the facts of the article. Why now, lets see what the kid has, that is why. You wonder why so many players don't like the Eagles fans? It is because of posts like those.

Reid needs to go, however, it isn't his fault there is only 1 starting offensive lineman on the field this season. Peters injury really hurt the team, losing Kelce killed the team. Without Herremans a lost cause. None of that is Reids fault. What coach has a plan for 3rd and 4th string guard, tackle and center ?

If you want to hate the Eagles, just become a Cowboy fan. They are clueless too.

it's idiots like you who line lurie's pockets and enable his complete mismanagement of the franchise. the lack of o-line depth isn't his or roseman's fault? then who is responsible, the tooth fairy?

eagles are 20mm under the cap after refusing to pay veterans like winston justice, A.Q. shipley and mike mcglynn veteran money.

btw, those three guys are starting for the 6-4 colts

THE TEAM IS A DISASTER AND wilbert SAYS "it isn't his (Reid's fault). WELL. THAT IS THE DUMBEST THING I'VE READ IN A WHILE. I THINK THAT wilbert IS JUST A NEW NAME FOR tpizza or laughingloud123. THOSE DOPES HAVE DISAPPEARED BUT DON'T HAVE THE GUTS TO COME BACK HERE AND TAKE THEIR BEAT-DOWN. THOSE DOPES ARE JUST USING wilbert TO AVOID THE BEAT-DOWN THAT THEY HAVE COMING.

Reid was the one who brought in Mudd and Mudd is the one with the gimmicky system that none of the backups can play. The Eagles fortunes would be looking a lot better with the likes of Justice, McGlynn, Shipley, and Jackson still on the team.

Hey Wilbert how did AR do last yr when that excuse for an O line was healthy? yea thats what I thought

AR beat up on a historically bad NFC for about 8 yrs and still only got thru 1 lousy time.

"AR beat up on a historically bad NFC for about 8 yrs and still only got thru 1 lousy time."

I cite that fact all of the time but many posters prefer to ignore it because it would completely invalidate their depiction of Reid as, "The greatest coach the Eagles have ever had." They don't like that little bothersome factual caveat.
