Defensive end Vinny Curry is inactive for the second consecutive week, sidelined for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers. This is not a good sign, because one of the defenses last week was that the Redskins are a running-based offense and Curry is a pass rusher.

Except the Chargers are a pass-heavy team, so the decision comes as a surprise. Curry has been inactive for 12 of 18 games in his Eagles career.

The other inactive players are quarterback Matt Barkley, cornerback Bradley Fletcher, cornerback Shaun Prater, offensive lineman Matt Tobin, tackle Dennis Kelly, and tight end Emil Igwenagu.

Fletcher, a starting cornerback for the Eagles, was declared out on Friday. Look for Brandon Boykin to start.

Brandon Hughes will make his season debut on Sunday. Prater continues to sit, and Jordan Poyer continues to play.

Tobin was also inactive last week. Kelly had already been declared out. Allen Barbre and Julian Vandervelde are the two backup linemen.

Igwenagu is the No. 4 tight end, and the Eagles only dress three.
